Key Strategic Priorities include:

  • Climate Resilience Framework: Developing and reporting on initiatives to strengthen the community against environmental shifts.
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) Strategy: Supporting the rollout of sustainable transport infrastructure.
  • Water & Waste Management: Managing community water resilience programs and litter clean-up initiatives.
  • Grant Management: Overseeing community environmental grants and stakeholder management for community gardens.
  • Emissions Management: Implementing action plans to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions across Council operations.

Candidate Profile: Skills & Qualifications

The City of Canada Bay is looking for a “self-starter” with a blend of technical expertise and community engagement skills. To be a successful applicant, you should possess:

  1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical work in environmental sustainability, waste resilience, or emissions management.
  2. Education: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Ability to analyze complex data sets, manage environmental databases, and prepare technical reports.
  4. Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple sustainability projects simultaneously with exceptional time management.
